The Dutch sits comfortably in the heart of SoHo, offering a straightforward New American dining experience that leans into classic comfort food with a modern twist. This full-service restaurant and bar is a go-to spot for those looking for a lively yet approachable meal, whether it’s brunch, dinner, or late drinks. The interior carries a cozy, slightly dim ambiance that can feel a bit snug during daytime, making it better suited for evenings or weekend brunches when the buzz adds energy to the space.

On the menu, The Dutch shines with dishes like their hot fried chicken paired with honey butter biscuits and slaw, balancing crisp textures with rich, comforting flavors. Their Black Angus hanger steak with kimchi fried rice and farm egg showcases how they integrate bold, global influences into familiar American fare. Seafood lovers will appreciate fresh East Coast oysters and specialties like lobster tagliolini and lemon roasted cod, all grounded in quality ingredients.

Brunch here tends to attract a crowd that enjoys classic dishes executed well rather than experimental plates. Think fluffy cornmeal flapjacks with blueberry syrup, poached eggs, and solid avocado toast options. The bar program complements well with cocktails like the Bloody Caesar adding a savory punch to a relaxed weekend vibe.

The Dutch feels most inviting on busy weekend evenings when groups gather to enjoy well-cooked steaks, standout double cheeseburgers, and oysters. The staff, while sometimes casual in demeanor, generally handle larger parties smoothly and maintain attentive service. It’s a spot that suits those who prioritize hearty food and a bustling atmosphere over modern minimalism or quiet dining—perfect for casual celebrations or catching up over drinks in SoHo’s bustling streetscape.

I’ll be honest when it comes to review this is one of those restaurants that was in my camera feed. I review all restaurants I go to in my camera feed and I totally forgot to review this meal because it wasn’t stand out shocking but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t good. I enjoyed this meal. The food looked and tasted good but again this is New York City and if it doesn’t stand out, it gets lost in the hundreds of thousands of restaurants in this city. There are a few ways that did stand out the burger, beautiful perfect shape, perfect hamburger size ratio, fries, overflowing, tall, beautiful as well and the drink they serve served this amazing looking bloody Mary in this glass fish, which I loved and they make it just the way I like it with double the alcohol however I asked for this it didn’t come this way, but everyone should do this, but even with the alcohol, it felt quite dark, which was strange The fried chicken, gorgeous delicious who doesn’t love fried chicken, the steak beautiful I mean everything was so well put together plated well made well with class in style the crispy potatoes so When did it blew me away though was the oysters I don’t know what oyster I had but it was like smooth butter. I wanted 100 more of those then I might come back for.

We went in a large group and the restaurant was very accommodating in hosting us inside on a busy and cold Saturday night. The food, service and ambiance were all excellent!! The burger was the best I had in a long time. The oysters brilliant and the steak perfectly cooked and seasoned. Definitely recommend this place.

Wonderful experience here on a Friday evening for my wife’s birthday dinner. Food and drinks were terrific and the staff was very accommodating and friendly. Love the vibe here. Definitely recommend if you’re in SoHo!

A solid brunch option - not the most unique menu but both plates we ordered tasted good and ok value. Fried chicken was tender and juicy, biscuits were fluffy, and the soft scrambled eggs were the perfect texture. Service was very efficient. Personally found the interior a little cramped and dark for brunch, but I think it fits the vibe.

Had lunch with my family here in late summer and decided to come based on reviews. Very charming atmosphere and decor. Was seated immediately by staff altough they were a bit too casual in their attitude, almost like they didn't care we were there but it was just a faint feeling nothing deterring. The server was attentive as well. I had a very nice coffee but unfortunately it was served cold. I was desperate for coffee so didn't complain. we got the fried chicken with biscuits and that was yummy. The goat cheese with beets salad was phenominal. the deviled eggs were also good but a bit too strong flavoring. But beautiful presentation all around. I would definitely return here next time Im in town. The food was good. To be honest, it was the decor and ambiance that really made the experienc top notch for me. And also free matches which you never see in restaurants anymore.

A neighborhood vibe with fantastic service and great food. Carmellini has put together a menu with something for everyone even if you are looking for a suprise. Great bar scene, perfect for people watching and reliably the place we go to with our grown children or out of town guests. Chicken was delicious, pasta was fantastic. Desserts were new to us and the chocolate pudding (it might be something else but its pudding at its best) and the real winner was the apple dessert. Go figure.

Wow! I love this place. The atmosphere was charming, the energy was electric, and the staff was warm and welcoming. The food was out of this world. We got the duck meatloaf, and some of the best fried chicken. I absolutely loved the elevated, modern twist. They took on classic food. To top it all off, the dirty martini was one of the best I’ve ever had.
